Doesn’t suprise me. There’s a reckoning coming for Facebook. Thanks for the public heads up and for not rolling over…

Ultimately, we are personally better off for it because Facebook is such a disgusting mind virus. So we just choose not to use it. But it’s annoying how all of our friends can’t live without it.

This happened to my husband years ago. Facebook had less than zero interest in providing a way for us to contact anyone to help resolve the problem. A cycle of dead ends. And of course they wouldn’t let us into the account because we no longer were the ones that knew the password or phone number associated with it. But the hackers do. Thank you for revealing this. Zuckerberg is a slimy weasel. He will never be held accountable, which is why people no longer trust our institutions. I hope you get somewhere with this revelation.

I appreciate the frustration--it's warranted--but isn't there also an argument here, for not relying on or using Facebook as a product? Surely this is a cautionary tale related to entrusting too many of one's biographical memories and relationships to a social media company.

It's highly unfortunate for Meta that Trisha showed you that message from FB. You, an award-winning investigative journalist!

Utility companies are the same way. You can't ever reach corporate and dead ends abound. However, the worst are the credit reporting companies. They randomly declare that they need further ID from you and then want you to send your SS# and other sensitive information - via snail mail no less! Arbitration agreements should be illegal when it comes to small claims court so that we could sue when we've been "red-taped"...

Meta has “security”? 😂😂😂 Why would the evil head clown🤡 address anything? He has minions and could give a flying fig leaf. Moral of the Story: Don’t use his evil platform! Sorry, but pick a better stable platform. Consider other platforms

So glad I deleted my Facebook account over a decade ago. I never once missed it since. But I can imagine how pissed off I'd be if I did use it and had my account disabled due to no fault of my own. So much for valuing community!

Anyone who depends on social media for income must learn that the internet is not secure and neither is your computer. Placing your memories and your business in the hands of others is a major error in judgment and must be avoided at all costs. I understand it appears easier for people to find businesses these days with the aid of social media, but for people to go to this length in the mistaken belief that social media is your life, well, I really feel bad for you. The internet is not your friend. Use it as a tool in your quiver, not your wallet.

Similar happened to me. Fortunately, it wasn’t a business account but my account created 2007 was permanently disabled with no option for appeal and no way to ask for help. Lots of connections and history lost - make sure you have 2FA on and backups added as admin to any important Facebook groups.
