Hasn't anyone at the Vatican read God's Bankers?

Evidently not.  The latest financial scandals continue to mount.  

• Millions of dollars in fake invoices and double billing from favored contractors

• A hospital sponsored by the Pope diverted money to a lavish remodeling of a top cardinal's apartment

• Pope Francis's handpicked auditor has thrown in the towel and abruptly resigned

• Cardinal Pell, head of all financial reform, is back in Australia defending himself on sex abuse charges

There was so much hope when Francis became Pope in 2013 that he would bring sweeping reform to the arcane and incestuous world of the Vatican and its money.  Unfortunately, Francis increasingly seems to be unable or unwilling to force through the necessary changes.
