I hope that this is truly the beginning of the end for this medical nightmare. Just a note to observe that the medical scandal doesn’t end with minors; there is no evidence that gender affirming care helps young adults either. Yes, legally they can ‘do what they want’ with their bodies, but it shouldn’t be called medicine.
The American Psychological Association has not recanted its ongoing commitment to the gender religion. Neither has the American Psychiatric Association, but they may finally and quietly correct their course, now that the AMA has sort of done so.
I am left of center politically, and watched with alarm the travesty at Tavistock in London about ten years back, when sex change hormone therapy and surgery was very clearly politically based instead of scientifically based.
Such radical, permanent medicine should ALWAYS be evidence-based, with NO politics involved. Sadly, the trans lobby shouted it down, and children will be paying for it the rest of their lives.
Once one turns 18, if the choice is made to proceed in that direction, I believe the government should have NO say in the decision, aside from making sure the procedures are safe.

They are wrecked for life. That’s truly scandalous.
Only “two of the most powerful medical organizations in the United States—the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Medical Association” have retreated. What about the others? The fact that they can’t all be on the same page - that this is not organizational wide right now - tells us the ideology remains stronger over evidence-based medicine. These 2 facts alone are also truly scandalous. And this has been the crux of this mess from the very beginning which you have clearly articulated multiple times.
I take a very cynical view: These medical orgs saw the handwriting on the wall with the recent multi-million dollar lawsuit win. It’s been, continues and always will be about the money. Accountability, medical ethics and altruism be damned. “Medicine depends on public trust.” Can these medical orgs ever get their reputations back? In essence they lied. Accountability is required so that trust is earned. I’m highly skeptical they can. What safeguards are in place so that this can never happen again? Are they working on this right now? At the moment it appears to be ZERO.
If they’re smart they should be working on putting in permanent safeguards and publishing them for public review and comment first before making them official. This includes a public apology for the lies and for placing ideology over evidenced-based medicine. They now have a duty to perform with the goal of earning the public trust again. Pressure and lawsuits are the sole driving forces. But right now this recklessness remains. “The reckoning remains incomplete.” This is very dangerous and will cause a repeat in the future.

Gender madness and the Biden immigration surge put Trump in office. What do these bizarre and harmful policy decisions have in common? They are the result of Progressives being "kind" and "good." We have seen a remarkably superficial political philosophy dominate the discourse for a decade, in no small part because our professional news media is dominated by cowards who bowed down to Progressives to protect their social and professional status. While the medical abuse of children may be on the defensive, the larger Progressive project is alive and well, ironically reanimated by the crude stupidity of the person they put in office. We need serious people to put a stop to this. That means that sensible Democrats and Republicans alike need to denounce the idiocy that both the far left and far right represent.
I think that it is more accurate to simply say that these professional organizations lied. And they not only "marginalized" healthcare professionals who refused to submit to the gender religion, they destroyed the reputations and careers of many of us who did. The American Psychological Association, which has been one of the most aggressive perpetrators of these abuses, continues on course. Healthcare professionals who practice where I do (Portland, OR) are nearly all too intimidated or too indoctrinated to openly challenge the legitimacy of the gender transition racket. People who rely on MSM for their information have told me they have seen little or no coverage of the dramatic news you are covering on this site.
The practitioners that supported this are myriad at least here in WA State. It's school, teachers, local pediatricians. You didn't have to do to a gender clinic to get these treatments. Handed out like smugness candy.

I will be very interested whether other entities will be called out in further legal action. Will states go after providers en masse? Did insurance companies violate their fiduciary obligations by approving these experimental procedures? I believe this is just the beginning and look forward to further reporting.
